New Forecast for mid-April through the month of May

Aries: You could be in the chips as they say during this period, especially after May 11, when Mercury goes direct. Up to then, watch every penny and save. If a new job comes your way, you could be working overtime to make a big impression. Work and earning money are especially serious issues right now. Still, you cannot help but fantasize a bit about being somewhere else, doing something entirely different. Forget not that as prosperity in some form knocks on your door, it is where you are at rather than where you think you want to be that counts. You get energized instantly when the latest opportunity comes through the door-- how come that initial spark of excitement often grows fainter by the day? What is it going to take to keep your interest at peak level? The answer may be something you do not want to hear but let us come out and say it anyway--you keep looking for a bigger ego trip and this time there is a good chance you will have it.

Taurus: Once you get on a specific track, you tend to stay there until the bottom drops out. Hard to turn on and even harder to turn off, your dogged determination is an asset except when it is not. At this time, you may believe that you have everything under control. The outer planets and the higher forces they represent, however, are operating in your chart as guides to something new. Could it be a new avenue to financial security or a new talent that emerges and surprises everyone, including you? Your friends and associates may notice that something about you has changed; but as the wife of someone of your sign once said--"he does not change, he becomes more so." Since you are one of the easiest people to get along with as long as you have your creature comforts and no one is pressuring you, becoming more so is likely to be just what we want from you. Only please use your imagination so that life does not get monotonous. Remember that most of us become bored more easily than you do.

Gemini: Venus the goddess of love and her male counterpart Cupid (after all Gemini always comes in twos) is travelling through your sign. If love is not in the air; it could be coming round the bend. Now if you are comfortably situated in a committed relationship; see if you can rekindle the spark that brought you together in the first place. If, on the other hand, you are single and available, expect fireworks in one or even several encounters that are in the cards for you during this cycle of time. As a lover of language, of scintillating information and of continual change there could be just enough going on in your own backyard, so that you do not get ants in your pants when your wings are tentatively pinned down. Responsibilities on the home front may keep you more grounded and less mobile than you would prefer to be. Your nervous energy is usually challenged by a sedentary lifestyle; only instead of cavorting about, the world is going to keep coming to you and it should be anything but dull.

Cancer: You are perhaps the most security conscious sign. This cycle of time is providing strong motivation to climb out of that shell you like to hide in and show what you can do, so that you do not get 'lost in the shuffle.' You may come up against a few brick walls but look at it this way--you are testing your resolve to win against all odds and not let difficult circumstances dishearten you and cause you to retreat. As the sensitive person that you are, you pick up on every emotion that others are attempting to conceal and wear their projections as if they were tailor-made for you. Moodiness may be something you had hoped you overcame a long time ago--certainly it fades with maturity once you realize the world is not here to do your bidding. Why expect that it will and then become disappointed. Your best bet now is to stick with what has worked well in the past and with your phenomenal memory you ought to be able to recall and duplicate your best performances so that you can reach the finish line riding a winner.

Leo: Your sign either gives everything or gives nothing. You can work as intensely as anyone yet you can lounge around and laze about when you feel like it as well. As a matter of fact, you pretty much do whatever you feel like doing with no apologies offered. After all who is audacious enough to tell royalty how to behave? What makes you royal, dear Leo, is that great big heart of yours and when a person comes from their heart, they light up the world. You are never going to resign yourself to being just a 'dime a dozen' talent. You may win triumphantly or lose mournfully but at least you will never be a mediocrity. During this cycle, transmit your warmth even in the apparent face of a setback and you will learn a valuable lesson that Leo could stand learning--it is easy to be a good winner but losing gracefully is clear evidence that you are the master of your ego rather than the other way around.

Virgo: Travel is a good idea around this time, as long as you are productive. Soaking up the Sun on a beautiful beach--well, save that for the weekends. If you go somewhere you are likely to make some good connections. You may discover that what you want and what is being offered are two very different entities. If you accept what is being brought to your table and put on your plate, however, it may taste a whole lot better than you thought it would. Let the universe decide what is going to work for you. You sense a power in you that wants to come through but something seems to be blocking it. Saturn is in your sign again and the impediment may well be that you still are not satisfied with what you are accomplishing. One could say to you, "do not be so hard on yourself" but frankly right now, you do not know how to be any other way.

Libra: The famous Libra languor is in clear evidence this month for when your sign loses all sense of proportion, you long to withdraw to a retreat that is free of tension where you can contemplate in an atmosphere of stillness. The need to bring that active mind of yours into a more balanced state will undoubtedly seem necessary for you several times during this period. The problems all of us on the Earth are facing seem to have no viable solution, although you may have a few up your sleeve. As Bruce Lipton says in his book, "Spontaneous Evolution"-- a wake-up call if there ever was one--our society has long replaced the golden rule with the rule of gold. Are any of us exempt from sharing in the responsibility for what our world has become? Or perhaps, since the discovery of fire, it always has been that way. Only now with more and more of us souls here on the Earth instead of somewhere else, the competitiveness among us appears increasingly detrimental. Apply your famous penchant for impartiality and serve the greater good by helping the rest of us learn to value equality and fair play. Speak your truth as often as possible and begin setting things right.

Scorpio: It is not uncommon for you to change your mind only this time around it is not just your mind you will be changing. Your whole life is due for an overhaul in which you throw out the parts that no longer serve you and make room for the abundance of riches ready to come through the door. It is not necessarily the coin of the realm and huge piles of it that is heading your way, although there could be some of that as well. The wealth spoken of here comes through relationships and through professional achievements. Most of it, however, it is derived from the wisdom you have gleaned from your increased openness and willingness to explore new avenues of knowledge and experience. The innovative steps you are taking now are making your life a whole lot juicier than it has been for a very long time. Never one to shy away from a challenge, you can realize more than ever what a strong person you have become and while you can thank the cosmos for giving you the tools to unlock your inner powers, most of the credit belongs to you and you alone.

Sagittarius: You are probably working overtime preparing for some very important engagements and while you are the most optimistic of the signs you are getting pernickety in making sure that all the bases are covered. Financial pressures motivate you to go over everything time and time again. You might never have imagined that you could be so exacting and so demanding of yourself but after all, you aspire to maintaining the highest of standards. This compels you to cut down on your ratio of fun times and upgrade your patterns so that you are ready for prime time. Your sign is about taking the long route to success and then giving all of us something that has enduring value. Since you move quickly and cover a lot of ground, the choices you make along the way ought to be nothing less than impeccable.

Capricorn: You have no problem waking up in the morning filled with ambition to do great things. You are most likely now engaged in producing something that will stand out for you are the embodiment of the catch phrase 'the pursuit of excellence.' Work is especially favored during this period with Venus traversing your solar sixth house where you move into a space of devotional service to the job at hand. Aquarius: Even though you can reason that there is a lot of justification for making some changes, chances are you will stick with your program. It seems more important for you to hold things together than be tempted to alter your agenda. You want to include everyone you know and are 'in like with' into your life, yet sometimes there just is not room enough for the growing numbers that realize you are on to something that they had better get on to as well. Well everything you do does not have to be done face to face. Take advantage of the marvelous means of communication available to you and share your ideas generously without ever getting up from your easy chair. Your sign represents the one (you) interrelating with the many (the rest of humanity) and distributing your pearls not to the swine but to those who are seeking the light and who recognize that it flows effortlessly through your channels.

Pisces: This cycle of time for you is about giving equal time to your public life (where you can pull off some splendid accomplishments) and your private life (where you can bask in a state of self-satisfaction over a job well done.) Good vibes have been with you for some time now but that does not make you immune to the downbeat vibes of others. Hang out with the upbeat people or go it alone but do not allow anyone to dampen your spirits because there is a lot more goodness coming your way, packaged just for you in allotments that are compact enough for you to handle and big enough for you to make a measurable difference.

The unrest prevailing throughout the globe is increasing by leaps and bounds. It is the product of a resistance by the general population to go past previous limits.

We are under-estimating our capabilities to change the way we do what we do.

The present state of the world has been solidified through the co-creative power of our collective consciousness. Once the meltdown process that is now going on is complete and the 'us against them' and 'might makes right' approach has been discarded, we have the power to put all the pieces together in a new way.

It is time for everyone to break free and transition from 'control mode' to surrender. Surrender in this case means falling in love with who you really are.

The voice of reason compels society to maintain control and sustain our current paradigm. Instead, seeing that the old belief systems and the structures that have kept them in place are failing to improve our lives so that we can progress to higher levels of awareness, we can move into a greater space of acceptance of what is by teaming up with the life process directly. We can engage in mind-expanding processes that open our minds to more subtle dimensions and begin downloading updated information from the cosmic airwaves. All we need to do is focus on what we are aiming for and the life process itself will show us how to accomplish our aim, so that we can begin to change the way we experience the world.

Jupiter is a symbol of a cosmic energy that expands whatever it contacts, fostering the growth and development of all living things. Notes from a world-traveller

One question I get asked a lot is, "Of all the places you have visited, which ones are your favourites?" Of course, there are many. Here is a list of some that come immediately to mind.

Scotland: I feel at home there. Sometimes events gets all stirred up and feisty tempers boil over but that is all part of the fun of hanging out with the clans. It's a colourful country with some of the most magical places on Earth-the highland villages, the islands of Iona and Staffa, Findhorn, and the great city of Edinburgh.

Hawaii: One cannot exaggerate its beauty nor breathe air so clean. The climate is usually perfect, as long as the trade winds come in from the sea and the spirit of aloha that emanates from the locals comes straight from the heart.

Santa Fe: It is the oldest capital in North America; it has its own look and its own style, which is one reason it calls itself, "The City Different." In the high and dry mountain air the intense light inspires the many artists that live there while the healers and astrologers like this place because the veils are thinner. New Mexico is called 'The Land of Enchantment' and the core of that enchantment is right here in Santa Fe.

Bali: Though it can sometimes feel like being in a steam-bath, until you switch on the air-con, this island is so special in so many ways that it transcends any sources of irritation. The Balinese people have much to teach about living graciously and the beauty spots of their world are beyond comparison to anyplace else. Bali is an amazing experience in instant manifestation where you can prove to yourself that thoughts are indeed things.

Japan: No other place comes even close to being like Japan. No outsiders went there until the middle of the Nineteenth Century and the Japanese developed a homogenous society so tightly knit together that the population can communicate to one another without words. Kyoto is the jewel in the crown with its treasures hidden beyond walls--walls that contained the former imperial capital for one thousand years. If you go, go in April when the cherry blossoms bloom--start in the South early in the month and work your way up to the top via some of the fastest trains in the world.

California: Probably no food exists that cannot be grown here so even if the economy plummets, there are fertile, elevated regions away from the coast where future communities can spring up and flourish. Meanwhile there is still a fabulous offering of places: LA and Hollywood, the Desert Communities, Santa Barbara, the Monterrey Peninsula, the San Francisco Bay Area, and the Wine Country of the Napa Valley. This state may have known better days yet it is still a wonder that apparently refuses to accept limits even in the most of challenging of times.

Norway: Most folks stay away unless they are on a cruise through the magnificent fjords because it is cold here more than it is anything else and it is incredibly expensive with one of the highest standards of living on the planet. The government believes it exists to serve the people, although the people may not always think they are being served. Norwegians pay high taxes yet it is a small price to pay. They are blessed to be born in this haven. The population consists of many very attractive and intelligent yet modest people who are happy to speak English and who speak it fluently. These Nordic folk dwell within a safe and sound society and are both authentic and idealistic in just the right proportion. It is not easy to get to know them as they protect themselves from superficial relationships, yet once you break the ice, you realize how worthwhile it was to have made the effort. I am always glad to be in Norway.

There are many other wonderful places I always enjoy visiting--Vancouver, BC and much of Western Canada, Alaska, Australia, Tuscany in Italy, the beaches of Thailand, St. John in the Virgin Islands, Mallorca, Spain and the Algarve in Southern Portugal, and of course, Boulder, Colorado where I plan to be moving to a bit later this year. A recent poll said it was the happiest and healthiest city in the United States. Actually there are many wonderful places in Colorado and wonderful people there as well.

New Forecast for mid-March through late April

Aries: You are on the magic carpet ride of your life and the stream of energies heading your way can take you on one fabulous adventure after another. All the goodness that prevails is balanced by some sober truths. You are especially gifted at living as if nothing else but your life was happening; only now there is too much that needs your attention for you to ignore the rest of the world. While you remain in blissful ecstasy, you witness others choosing to suffer and it occurs to you that 'there but for the grace of God go I.' The reason you so deftly rise above the pain is that the god force is most individually present in the first sign--your sign, which is why the Sun is exalted in Aries. The story they handed you said you were created by the almighty and produced from your family tree, however, you know above all that you are your own creation and the longer you stay in the cosmic dance, the more you become who you are.

Taurus: Your sign has two primary images--Ferdinand the Bull grazing in the field and becoming intoxicated by the sights, sounds and scents of Nature in full bloom and El Toro, the raging bull who charges without mercy and grinds his assailant down to dust. One might not think of a sign ruled by Venus, the goddess of love, as being dangerous but if anyone or anything dare threaten to take from you all that you value, your usually controllable temper is unleashed with a force that cannot be deflected. That is why, at least during this period of time, everyone you meet is amenable to helping you stay calm and content and meeting your needs whenever possible. Believe it--you have the Midas touch. All that is gold though does not glitter--sometimes you cannot even see it.

Gemini: There is always something so perennially youthful about your sign. The times you are moving through now, however, demand you rise to a new level of maturity. The world wants to invite itself in to your world and the traffic due to pass through your door is set at a higher volume than normal. True, you could abandon ship and ignore the increased claims on your time and energy. Better still, let things flow unimpeded because somewhere in the line-up is just what you are looking for and because you are a twin, the gift has a twofold surprise. Something you thought was sure to take place is going to be replaced and something you thought would never occur is just about to materialize right in front of your eyes.

Cancer: An astrologer named Debbi Kempton Smith said in a book she wrote that your sign was the most powerful of all. One might not think of you in that way, however, during the weeks to follow, if you exercise the appropriate amount of patience and an adequate dose of self-discipline, your inner wisdom and likeable personality (when you are in good spirits) can win the day. People are heading your way and almost waiting in line to gain from your knowledge and you are starting to recognize that you have more to give than you ever dreamed possible. What comes back to you is surprising as well--a journey to new dimensions that alters your perception of reality and is sooner or later going to be spread around the globe by you in an easy-to-understand format.

Leo: You are treading on familiar territory. It seems that you are playing out the same scenes you have played many times before. Only now, people are watching you just the way you have always wanted them to, as every environment you step into is emotionally charged by your glamorous presence. You are known to overestimate yourself yet how little known is your tendency to blame yourself when things work out differently than planned. Still, in the energy field that currently surrounds you, it does not matter how much your plans go astray--you are the main attraction in your movie and the time has arrived when your situation turns in your favor. The energy that you are emitting will take you to the end point of your game with flying colors, so there is no need to start getting petty at this late stage. Just demonstrate how generous and high minded you are and the world will help make your star shine even brighter.

Virgo: You may be wondering why you do not seem to be able to progress as quickly and as smoothly as you would like. The answer could well be that you are paying too much attention to your private life and not enough to your public one. If you are engaged in a primary relationship; chances are you are disappointed but that could change and soon if you both open up to new experiences. Life is asking you to include the wishes of others on your wish list. Mutual empowerment can take you out of the land of futility and into the land of nobility where some of your highest thoughts are ripe and ready for manifestation. You are filled with goodness and want to see it prevail in the world. Libra: Saturn has gone retro back into Virgo for a while so the pressure ought to have lessened unless you got so used to the pressure that it no longer perturbs you.That is highly doubtful though.You could land a job that comes straight from your dreams if you are willing to show parts of you we have never seen before. It will not take courage nearly as much as it takes casting a different light on your persona. The people you are working with have the ability to bring out things in you that the world is ready to see. Perhaps it is simply a matter of permitting yourself to dig deeper and live through this next period of your life as if it were the most important--because it is. The Saturn principle is insistent that people get their life together and right now your life can not only improve; it can start to get closer to the way you have always wanted it to be.If you are willing to do the work, that is just what will happen.

Scorpio: It would be great for you to create some additional backing so that you would have more time and more freedom to experiment with what you do and how you do it. You are a passionate person with a commitment to life that is rare. Nothing intimidates you because you are confident you can handle whatever comes up. Your mastery of self is commendable and inspiring. Still, for all your strength of character, your fascination with intrigue and secret information can get you all tangled up in a web of intrigue and deceit. No one was ever served by being deceived so you become the master investigator and get to the answers that everyone else has been denied. Once you know what is going on out of sight, you know everything and there is nothing left to do except tell the truth, if you dare?

Sagittarius: While you would undoubtedly prefer to be dispensing that fabulous Sagittarius wisdom about life and love and everything that matters, personal responsibilities are keeping you shut away from the world more than you would like. Capricorn: Ordinarily you do not want to believe that anything is out of control and you tend to worry when you see that something in your life is. The huge concentration of planets visiting your solar third house--the arena of information and of keeping up with the latest developments--is asking you to stand by and observe. What you already know about life and death barely scratches the surface of what you about to learn if you pay close attention. The cosmos is revealing its secrets to you and asking you to ground the data you retrieve by making it more sensible to the average mind. You are emerging into a whole new cycle of your existence. Aquarius: Usually your spirits are high and your mental state is positive and optimistic. So why are you 'down in the dumps' more frequently these days. New Forecast for February and March from Maui with Love

Aries: Half of the planets including mighty Jupiter and electrifying Uranus are moving into your twelfth house and you just might want to check out from reality and enter the Dreamtime. Your imagination is sure to be on fire so hang out somewhere where the folks appreciate far-out thinking. The veils will be thinner during this episode of your life and not everyone is able to understand you. Not that this situation should bother you very much, as jumping ahead of the rest of us to pioneer new territory is what your sign is all about. What the universe is asking of you is to create your own solution to the problems facing us all. You have depended upon yourself from Day One, so there is no reason in heaven or hell to look elsewhere for assistance. What you are is enough and it always has been.

Taurus: Face it--you are a bit concerned that all is not well. The US Treasury Department just issued a statement saying that the same road conditions that caused the first financial meltdown and ensuing crisis last year exist as much if not more now, only the car we are driving on that road is going even faster. Nothing unnerves your sign more than the whiff of financial instability. It is almost as if the powers that be are driving us all to ruin. No matter--there are options and alternatives should that occur. What is happening is that we are witnessing the end of an era, as "The Age of Materialism." grinds to a halt. While money in itself is not evil, our attitudes toward it (Many of us see it as the greatest power on earth) must change if we are ever to recapture the paradise we have lost So help us out and transcend your infatuation with stuff and instead begin discovering the joy of non-material forms of enrichment.

Gemini: If you do not make Herculean efforts to push your agenda out into the world during this cycle, you could be missing out on the chance of a lifetime. On second thought since Pisces is the sign inhabiting the super-powerful tenth house of worldly acclaim in your solar chart, you may not have to push anything at all. The sign of the two fishes is capable of marvellous feats of magic that intellectual investigation cannot explain. There is a catch. It all depends on which of the two Piscean fishes is operating in your life, as one is headed toward realms of divine love and wisdom while the other is still hung up on playing ego games. Since Jupiter's abundant energy is currently located in the Pisces part of the Sky (330-359 degrees on the ecliptic,) either way you go, your public life is about to grow larger. Some of your dreams may be on their way to becoming what we call reality, when they are really but a reflection of the brilliance you have put into the mirror of time.

Cancer: This month is your time to stretch your mind and ponder the mysteries of the universe or should I say the mystery of you. As you are doing that, you may wish to stay away from all kinds of negative vibes. That is always good advice as far as you are concerned and it is especially important now. Like most of us, you are probably doing everything in your power to cease being judgmental. There is a difference, however, between self-judgment and sitting in judgment of others. Take time somewhere during this period for some deep soul-searching. You may penetrate into one of life's greatest secrets--the person or thing you are judging is a quality of your internal perception. I recall a tour I took at the Louvre Museum in Paris. No one is sure when this alleged age of harmony, enlightenment and universal peace starts, even though some claim they are. The vernal point, which is the degree on the planet's track where the Sun begins its annual journey on the first day of spring in the Northern Hemisphere, is currently at the fifth degree of Pisces. According to that measurement, we are still in the Pisces/Virgo Age and will be there for at least another three hundred years.

The Age of Aquarius (which includes the complementary opposite sign, Leo, bringing in the energy of intense self-awareness) is an astronomical reality; its meaning, however, is purely subject to astrological interpretation. Aquarius' aim is to conceive of a system where every individual has access to the truth, the whole truth and nothing but. Thus, those born under this sign are truth seekers and truth tellers who want to know what is going on, regardless of how unsavory the truth may be. Not only that, but because Aquarians are mindful of the greater good, they expect everyone on earth to want the same thing. This is a miscalculation, for when confronted with unpleasantness and presented with facts they find undesirable, many people sink into denial. There exists both the illusion of freedom and the reality of freedom. The illusion of freedom is based on the belief that freedom can be bought. In other words, money and lots of it adds up to freedom. Applying this idea and watching it played out in daily life, we see that fortunes rise and fall and that money is hardly an absolute while real freedom is. Money buys the privilege of choosing and the more money, the more choices become available. That is the freedom of choice; however, it is not the reality of freedom.

Since people, especially in most of the Western World, already believe they are free, the reality of freedom is not an easy principle to convey.

People may also assume that unless they already know something, then it is not true.

Those who live in large, densely populated cities in particular, while open to the latest developments, are suspicious and skeptical of anything outside of their personal frame of reference. Life in an environment where personal space is at a premium and one hardly ever sees much of the sky places a conscious being in a survival-mode state and pushes that person into their 'ego mind.' This is what creates separation. As long as people believe they are separate and disconnected from the rest of life, they will never be free. They remain cloistered in their own private bubble, identifying with a layer of being that they have built-up to protect themselves from the overriding influence of others. They have lost identification with their fearless sense of self at the core of their being and completely identify with the protective layer.

The reality of freedom is that we are all inter-connected. If you come into my life and I come into yours, each of us has a divine gift to exchange with one another. Later on, one or both of us may pull away once the exchange has taken place.

The gift still remains and through the acceptance of it, another piece of protective shield surrounding us melts down and leaves us for good. We begin to realize that we are safe as long as we allow everything to unfold organically without tampering with the process.

No longer do we take in the world as if it is personally happening to us. Instead we see that life is asking us to respond to a preconceived unfolding order that is a direct result of all that has already taken place on this home planet of ours and that now needs our love and light in order to be healed. When we learn to live this way, no matter what it takes, we can then celebrate and enjoy the reality of freedom.

People have asked me over the years how human beings living thousands of years ago could learn about the astrological mysteries when today the modern mind in general does not have this understanding. In many cases the scientifically-oriented individual, having abandoned the value of using the right brain in processing information, will do all it can to invalidate the ancient wisdom. The answer is that it is because of the innocence of the ancient astrologers that the cosmic principles of astrology were revealed to them.
