New Forecast as the Sun enters the Aquarius Sky
The Age of Aquarius No one is sure when this alleged age of harmony, enlightenment and universal peace starts, even though some claim they are. The vernal point, which is the degree on the planet's track where the Sun begins its annual journey on the first day of spring in the Northern Hemisphere, is currently at the fifth degree of Pisces. According to that measurement, we are still in the Pisces/Virgo Age and will be there for at least another three hundred years.
The Age of Aquarius (which includes the complementary opposite sign, Leo, bringing in the energy of intense self-awareness) is an astronomical reality; its meaning, however, is purely subject to astrological interpretation. In that case, let us take a look at the sign of Aquarius and bring its astrological significance to light.
As the preceding sign Capricorn represents the pinnacle of material achievement, Aquarius, the sign that follows takes the zodiac in an entirely new direction.
Individuals born with the sign of Aquarius as a major focus in their charts (Sun sign, Moon sign, rising sign or many planets in Aquarius) are here to update the current structure and change the rules if necessary, distributing and making public information once reserved for the privileged few. This is the sign that cries out for a revolution in thinking. The Aquarius principle signifies a rebellion against a system where the few rule the many within a totalitarian regime.
Russia is an Aquarian country. It attempted, and ultimately failed, to create an economically egalitarian society. In theory, the Communist philosophy appealed to the masses. In practice, the masses could not pull it off.
It has often been said that if all the wealth of the world were redistributed, in a decade or two it would revert back to where it was before. Not everyone is equally ambitious, equally talented or equally responsible. Everyone, however, is equal in their essence and it is this equality of essence that we all share that is the priority consideration for Aquarius.
Aquarius embraces principles of truth and righteousness. Sadly, however, what is true in principle is not always true in fact. Principles are based on concepts of morality that are not easily changed while facts reflect the current physical condition of whatever is happening in the moment. Facts reveal what is true about us now while principles often dare to suggest what ought to be true.
If a social, political or economic system is based on principles and on what most of us agree ought to be true rather than what is actually true, it becomes lost in its idealistic intentions and loses its grip on reality. It expects more of the human population than what is actually occurring. This is why the road to hell is often paved with good intentions.
On the other hand, if we do not continue to raise the bar, elevate our standards and upgrade our patterns, human beings will remain forever crawling in the dust instead of spreading their wings and soaring to higher planes.
Aquarius' aim is to conceive of a system where every individual has access to the truth, the whole truth and nothing but. Thus, those born under this sign are truth seekers and truth tellers who want to know what is going on, regardless of how unsavory the truth may be. Not only that, but because Aquarians are mindful of the greater good, they expect everyone on earth to want the same thing. This is a miscalculation, for when confronted with unpleasantness and presented with facts they find undesirable, many people sink into denial. They only hear what they want to hear and believe what they want to believe. As they confront such individuals, Aquarians back down and back off.
The Aquarian personality respects the right of others to make their own choices, regardless of what they think of the choices they make. Still, the Aquarian never ceases getting the word out and trusting that one day soon the world will wake up and put an end to deception, corruption and exploitation by those who are running the show.
Aquarians like to see themselves as a cell in a great big body rather than as an independent star desiring to outshine all the other stars. They want everyone, not just themselves, to be strong and decisive and they will go out of their way to assist people because they feel connected to the human family. They do not want to be exclusive and thus over-identify with any single person but they do want to be a beacon of light and a brother or sister to all persons. Maintaining a humanitarian approach to life requires a degree of detachment and the ability to stay clear of personal entanglements. Still no sign is as valuable in organizing and participating in a group endeavor, nor more egalitarian in their interaction with every group member than an Aquarian, especially when the group has gathered for a cause that furthers human progress.
The summation of the Aquarian principle reduced to a single word is freedom, yet while the word is singular; it has a double meaning. There exists both the
illusion of freedom and the
reality of freedom. The definitions of the twofold principle of Aquarius, true to the paradoxical nature of the sign, are exactly opposite to what most of us would expect.
The illusion of freedom is based on the belief that freedom can be bought. In other words, money and lots of it adds up to freedom. Applying this idea and watching it played out in daily life, we see that fortunes rise and fall and that money is hardly an absolute while real freedom is. Money buys the privilege of choosing and the more money, the more choices become available. That is the freedom of choice; however, it is not the reality of freedom.
Since people, especially in most of the Western World, already believe they are free, the reality of freedom is not an easy principle to convey.
People may also assume that unless they already know something, then it is not true.
Those who live in large, densely populated cities in particular, while open to the latest developments, are suspicious and skeptical of anything outside of their personal frame of reference. Life in an environment where personal space is at a premium and one hardly ever sees much of the sky places a conscious being in a survival-mode state and pushes that person into their 'ego mind.' This is what creates separation. As long as people believe they are separate and disconnected from the rest of life, they will never be free. They remain cloistered in their own private bubble, identifying with a layer of being that they have built-up to protect themselves from the overriding influence of others. They have lost identification with their fearless sense of self at the core of their being and completely identify with the protective layer.
The reality of freedom is that we are all inter-connected. If you come into my life and I come into yours, each of us has a divine gift to exchange with one another. Later on, one or both of us may pull away once the exchange has taken place.
The gift still remains and through the acceptance of it, another piece of protective shield surrounding us melts down and leaves us for good. We begin to realize that we are safe as long as we allow everything to unfold organically without tampering with the process.
No longer do we take in the world as if it is personally happening to us. Instead we see that life is asking us to respond to a preconceived unfolding order that is a direct result of all that has already taken place on this home planet of ours and that now needs our love and light in order to be healed. When we learn to live this way, no matter what it takes, we can then celebrate and enjoy the reality of freedom.
People have asked me over the years how human beings living thousands of years ago could learn about the astrological mysteries when today the modern mind in general does not have this understanding. In many cases the scientifically-oriented individual, having abandoned the value of using the right brain in processing information, will do all it can to invalidate the ancient wisdom.
