Looking Ahead
The 2009 New Year Astrological Forecast2009 promises to be an electrifying time with the Sun, Mercury, Jupiter, Neptune, Chiron and the North Node all visiting the electrically energetic sign of Aquarius at the beginning of the year. Aquarius' ancient symbol is the water bearer, only now it can be truly understood as the bearer of light. For it is not water, the 'enlightened human' that Aquarius symbolizes, is carrying in his jug. It is electricity, the medium by which each of us can download high vibrational energy and information and share it amongst ourselves so that a general awakening can take place. Surely this process is destined to spread throughout the globe in the year ahead and reform all current systems.

Aries-Since your impatience often motivates you to step ahead of the group so that you can lead it in a bold new direction, you may resist stepping into line for a change. This month leadership is redefined, as the power within a group is more evenly distributed and no one appears to be in charge. Then, when Mercury returns to Capricorn's part of the sky on the 21st of January, it becomes clear that the more liberal approach was merely an illusion. It is business as usual, meaning the few rule the many and the dead rule us all in a society fearful enough to be tradition-bound. You, however, my Aries friend, will never allow anyone to manipulate you into submission. As 2009 opens up, you become the 'New Age Spartacus'. Using the power of your mind and the brilliantly original and clear ideas it generates to free us from bondage to a false sense of security, you open up the gates to a new world where the currency is love. That means the battle is finally over because as the saying goes, 'love conquers all.'
Taurus-While most astrologically-savvy folks do not associate your sign with an ability to look at life philosophically, surprisingly you are coming up with some insights and premonitions that appear to be heaven-sent. After the holiday celebrations, your mission is to bring those cosmic revelations down to earth, for they foretell of the future. Not the future we seem to be heading toward (because who wants that.) Instead, the picture you are painting informs us to to take a lemon and make lemonade. Simple and basic, that is you to the core but let us face it, that is what seems the most real to the greatest number of people. In our world, rewards are most substantial when one reaches the largest audience. All those planets in Aquarius are soaring to the zenith of your chart. No one is better equipped than you to electrify the mass mind with the wonderful elixir of liberation that the water bearer is ready to dispense to those prepared to see everything in a new light.
Gemini-Sometimes, you may think you are going wacko juggling all those balls you have thrown up in the air, while every time you check inside, the voice within is screaming for a scaling down of activity within your field of operations. Pruning
your output is definitely being called for and while you are at it, discarding everything that is non-essential and making a fresh start will resolve your current dilemma. After all of that takes place and you have emptied the vessel to a great extent, new information can be transmitted through your channels. The up-to-the minute data is a lot more scintillating than the repetitive information that has been clogging your receptors, which is why it has been difficult to imbibe the cutting edge content that can open up a new space for you and take you to a level of consciousness of unprecedented power. Instead of complaining of boredom or even depression because one twin has played its hand and the other twin is still waiting for its cue, realize that every moment holds the opportunity to make a breakthrough if only you would be quiet long enough to tune in to the present rather than continue babbling about the past.
Cancer-The New Year takes you into the depths, a territory you are already familiar with, only now, the currents are stronger. Relationships prove to be daunting, even though experiences of the recent past have assisted you in growing more tolerant. Much of the time, you wish that the people in your life could see what you see, and more importantly feel what you feel. Most of them, however, do not have your equipment to absorb the energy that lies beneath the gloss on the surface. In a sense, you are a deep sea diver in the sea of life and your mission is to bring back the pearls of wisdom that periods of profound introspection produce when you are in a blissful state of solitude. Of course, it would not be prudent to expect most people to recognize the treasures you have retrieved for they have never been where you have dared to go. Others cling to whatever seems to take away the angst of existential emptiness (relationships, mobile phones, the Internet, television), so is it any wonder that your perceptions go right over their heads? Do not despair though they will soon allow themselves to feel again and thereafter they will know what you have been talking about all along.
Leo: What is happening to that relationship you were so sure was the one. You are an extremely loyal person who gives the person who has captured your heart more leeway than any other sign. In return, you merely ask for regal treatment and undying devotion and of course you insist on being the boss. Now, either you want to alter the current scenario--or they do. The real issue may be that to have the relationship continue to work, you have to adapt to values that are new to you. You are being asked to assimilate a totally different script that you would never write yourself. You might question why you attracted this situation into your life. Despite all the beliefs that insist that you create everything that appears to happen to you, (which is an absolute belief system), it just could be that they created your current situation and you went along for the ride because you are addicted to love and romance. Ah, now that puts a different spin on things. What is really happening is that the energy in your chart around the New Year is almost totally focused on the other rather than on the self except for the part Saturn plays in your solar second house, which comes down to what matters the most to you. Yes you love them, however, you love yourself even more.
Virgo: Relationships are going through changes for you as well, although you are not nearly as hung up on the issue as the previous sign. You are more concerned with making a decent living, which means raising the bar on your job performance. A lot of folks are being asked not to return to their workplace and nothing pushes your buttons more than job insecurity. So you figure you just have to upgrade your efforts and make yourself indispensable. Most Virgos already are, even though they are too modest to proclaim it--but then again, no one really is that indispensable. As they say--the cemeteries are filled with indispensable people. Instead of working up a sweat imagining yourself among the army of the unemployed, use the Aquarian energy in your sixth house of productive employment to do things a bit differently than you are accustomed to (while establishing new thinking patterns, which then lead to innovative efforts that come across as the next great thing to happen.) You may not ordinarily think in terms of greatness, but more in terms of efficiency. Only right now, the greatest thing going is the one that works the most efficiently, not the one that looks the most desirable. Continue to focus on the fine points, Virgo, and appreciate the saying that less is more, for that is the message of the times, not so much because of choice but more because of necessity.
Libra: As the world around you shifts, alarmingly so, toward a global consciousness, it gives you--a person ever aware of social boundaries-- the opportunity to stretch your own borders. The most likely place for you to do so is in the area of your work. This ties in with a different form of self expression for yourself that is less mannered and more inventive. It is easier to love the people in your life when you do not spend too much time with any one of them. As you make your daily rounds, people who thought they knew who you were, begin to realize that they have misjudged you. Drastic times call for drastic measures and being polite is a luxury that has no place on a battlefield. Only now, the battle is with yourself and the cause is nothing less than the survival of your identity. You have been asked over and over again to cooperate (because that is what you have kept telling yourself was the proper thing to do.) Now you see that your willingness to coexist, concede, cajole and compromise put your own intentions at the bottom of the list. You want life to be fair and the fact is, it has not been. What is needed is a sit down session with your tougher side and a reworking of the rules you live by. Instead of waiting for others to set the protocol, it is imperative that you come in at the inception with a list of what is acceptable and what is not. Where you draw the line will make all the difference in the year ahead.
Scorpio: You might want to stay home a whole lot more, as the year begins or you might want to live somewhere else for a change. You might also begin changing your ideas about your entire life. The kind of deep thinking that one does in the wee small hours is going to be commonplace for you. No stranger to staying up to all hours and drifting into some serious soul searching, you may be startled with the information that emerges from those late night sessions. First you want to do this, then that and then the other thing. You have seldom been so unsettled. Venus and Uranus transiting your solar fifth house where you shine your light and give your love is creating a need for constant change, as if you might miss out on something unless you burn the midnight and hit all the bases. Scorpio and its opposite polarity Taurus are the two signs that never seem to get enough. If it is good to your taste, you could succumb to overdosing. If it is unpleasant (or worse), you become its arch enemy. Of course, an enlightened being such as you does not stoop to a level where anything or anyone is your enemy. Still, you cannot deny that when you do not like something, your dislike of it is infinite and that you never embrace anything that does not embrace you back. There may be smog on your window of life, yet sometime, somewhere and somehow, your soul mate, the one who loves you no matter what, will show up (or appear once more) and then you can take in the fresh, clean air once again.
Sagittarius- The situation in the world seems to have little effect upon you. Your aspirations are high and nothing can undermine your faith and optimism. You knew about the troubles we all are facing long before we actually had to deal with them. By the time, disaster struck, you had moved on to the solution, which is to move to the next level of consciousness. There was a book called "How to be Free in an Unfree World", a title they could have stolen from you while you were sleeping. Of course the book failed to tell us exactly how to live up to its title perhaps because it was not written by a Sagittarian. The key to being free is being without fear, which means just knowing you are going to land on your two feet no matter what because you deserve to win. Your sign really wants to do some good in the world and carries the best of intentions. Ah but they say that is what the road to hell is paved with--good intentions. Not in your reality though, because you have the wisdom to turn around and start all over again as soon as you see those intentions heading into negative territory. Incurably hopeful and eternally positive, unwilling to believe anything but the best and unbelievably capable of rising above a series of unfortunate events, you can triumph against the odds because you trust in the benevolence of the universe. You have discovered the secret of happiness--no matter what you have to go through, that pot of gold at the end of the rainbow will always be waiting for you.
Capricorn: Your powers of manifestation are more amazing than ever. As soon as a thought crosses your mind, it meets you around the corner in a fleshed-out format. Here you are the die hard realist, suspicious of easy answers and quick fixes and apprehensive about embracing anything until it has been subjected to double-bind testing. Suddenly, you have to admit that this mysterious universe is more magical than you had ever supposed and that once you take off the blinders, everything is possible. Aquarius-Your sign is the sign of the times and after years of frustration you are finally coming into your own. When the old ways need to be toppled, the winds blow in your direction and your high frequency energy is just what is needed to take us to
a better place. Barack Obama, the new president of the U.S., through his Aquarius ascendant is emulating FDR and Ronald Reagan, both of whom had their Sun sign in Aquarius. Instead of using the radio to speak directly to the people, however, Obama is using the video capacity of the Internet (an Aquarian concept), rather than have the press serve as a go-between. All three individuals know how to speak for the collective heart, which in turn quiets collective fears. Aquarius is a group consciousness rather than an individual one. The light bearer projects its vision of the future and waits to see how the group reacts. If consensus is won, that vision becomes the new wave. Pisces-Your charisma is at peak performance, thanks to Venus the goddess of love and Uranus, the harbinger of change. Both planets are transiting your solar first house, where it is just you and you alone and where all your wishes can come true because there is no one to prevent them. Currently, up one level on the chart are all those Aquarian planets plus Chiron and the North Node all moving through the chart's twelfth house. That house in your cosmic blueprint represents the arena of life where you believe you are not up to the task-it symbolizes the awareness of shortcomings. In this particular case, you feel you do not yet know enough to go out in the world and push through the dumbed-down density that resists everything new and different and denies anything that does not come in a box. It is time for you to realize that you have to make yourself larger than life and no longer hide the magic that makes you so amazing. What is truly astonishing about Pisces is that they are not just one sign (and one consciousness); they are actually all of them and there is nothing they cannot dream or be or do.
